ITALY --- The charming new XJ flagship is an elite Jaguar, a model that turns heads with its powerful body
(5.12m in the standard version, 5.25m in the long wheelbase version) and mix of style. It has a modern,
aggressive front section inspired by the XF and a traditional, rounded tail with LED light clusters. The XJ
boasts a coupe-like roofline and sloping rear screen, while the sides appear to have just one window. The
classic trunk has a very respectable cargo capacity of 520 liters. Made of aluminum and magnesium, the XJ‟s
body weighs less than 1,800kg.
While the exterior has lost its traditional Jaguar features, the cabin embraces the past with its luxurious
1930s style glamour. We find very comfortable seats, absolute silence and an ambiance that reminds us of
Old England. But there is one special thing here: the retro elements are mixed with a strong dose of modern
technology, starting with the virtual instrument panel. In addition to active and passive safety systems, this
Jaguar is equipped with details such as a heated steering wheel, start button, power operated tailgate and
touch screen navigator. Engine choices include the 3.0 V6 diesel with 275hp and two V8 gasoline units with
385hp and 510hp.
